In Dvorak’s opera Rusalka, Song to the Moon is the water nymph Rusalka’s plea to the moon for guidance and assistance.  Making this work felt like a similar plea, or bargaining of sorts.  As if by making this work the topsy-turviness and uncertainty of my world would somehow righten itself onto a smoother and brighter path.
