I was initially attracted to painting because I loved fooling around with paint. I attended the University of Washington where I was introduced to the more cerebral and conceptual aspects of art, but the real allure of painting continued to be the physicality of painting, and having my own little chaos to control. My work is always an exploration, a search for something that makes sense- a different kind of knowing. Nature, biology, all things horticultural are frequent references. Music and poetry are often catalysts. My work has been shown at Artswest, Phinney Center, Pratt Gallery, Design Center and small gallery spaces in the Seattle area.
