In this latest work I explore the duality between text and image by referencing two diverse sources of botanical information-botanical textbooks and Goethe’s 1790 treatise on plant morphology,The Metamorphosis of Plants. Goethes romantic/metaphysical take on plant morphology and his accompanying poetry inspired me greatly and any pretense towards botanical illustration was laid aside. In these pieces I surrendered to the imaginative impulse rather than observational or scientific accuracy
